The Australian hair industry’s own Yovanka Loria has been named as one of Australia’s Top 50 Small Business Leaders for 2022, as decided by Inside Small Business Magazine. This title recognises small business leaders who flourish in innovation, overcoming challenges, embracing sustainability and contributing to their local communities, which Yovanka has been honoured for in pioneering her business, Yovanka Loria Extensions.

This business was created in 2018 to fill a gap in the market for luxury hand-tied hair extensions, which Yovanka has built into an ascending hair extension and hair education company. The YL hand-tied extension system supports natural, healthy hair growth, with minimal points of contact with the natural hair, as well as completely customised colour within this application service.
“I truly did not foresee the rapid growth the extensions side of our business would experience, and this led to establishing the ‘Yovanka Loria’ collective brand – encompassing our salon, our extensions and our exclusive education method. We are so proud to be stocked in over 60 salons across Australia, and over 400 in America,” Yovanka said.
“With our business growth, I now see my role as a business owner as one of leadership; helping not just the people within my business thrive but supporting other business owners and stylists, and to do so with integrity, honesty and transparency. This is something much larger than just me.”
Within her impressive efforts as a business woman, Yovanka has also been nominated a Finalist in the 2022 AHIAs Business Best Business Performance. In 2021, she was awarded the title of SA Woman’s ‘The Innovator’ Award, and in 2019 and 2021 she won the title for Best Hair Extensions at the APAC Australian Enterprise Awards, covering the Asia Pacific region. She was also recognised in Adelaide’s top hairdressers in a Messenger/Advertiser poll in 2019. This latest accolade continues to add to her ever-growing mantle of achievements.
